Enable historical tracking for custom fields
If your sales process uses custom objects or field names instead of the base "Opportunity" (Opportunity code) object fields, some features can't calculate correctly for those fields. This includes features that depend on historical change tracking, such as the Pipeline movement dashboard and the Sales waterfall pipeline chart. They need Creatio to start recording historical values for those fields first. Add the fields you use to the Entity change tracking settings lookup, so Creatio stores both the current and previous value of each field going forward.
This procedure covers adding a field to an entity that Creatio already tracks historically. If your custom sales process is built on an entity that has no historical tracking configured yet, confirm the setup steps with your administrator or SME before proceeding. Enabling tracking for a brand-new entity may involve additional configuration not covered here.
- Open the "Studio" workplace → Lookups section.
- Search for the Entity change tracking settings lookup by name in the full lookups list — it isn't filed under a functional folder like "Opportunities."
- Open the lookup.
- Select the entity you use in place of the base "Opportunity" (
Opportunitycode) object (for example, a custom sales object). - Click + next to Columns to add a column.
- Select the field you want Creatio to start tracking.
- Click Save.
As a result, Creatio stores both the new and the previous value of the added field every time a record changes. The Pipeline movement dashboard, the Waterfall chart, and any other feature that reads from this historical data layer can now calculate correctly for your custom object.
