Start working with Creatio AI app development toolkit

Level: beginner

Before you start, set up the toolkit using the Setup Wizard. Learn more: Set up Creatio AI app development toolkit.

Build your first Creatio app from a ready-made prompt. The prompt describes a one-section Employee onboarding app in full detail, so the agent builds the same app for every user. This way, you check that the toolkit is set up correctly. You also see how the agent works: it prepares a plan, waits for your approval, and builds the app.

We recommend working with the toolkit in a development environment. Changes in a production environment might cause unexpected issues. Learn more: Environment overview.

If your security policy prohibits sharing credentials with an LLM, connect to the Creatio environment through Clio before you start, and remove the connection details from the request. Learn more: Set up Creatio instance for working with Clio (vendor documentation).

If you want to try the toolkit in a trial environment managed in your ALM Portal account, create a user with the "System administrators" organizational role in the trial and use the credentials of this user in the request. Learn more: Add a system administrator user.

  1. Open your coding agent and start a new session.

  2. Send the agent the following request. Replace the connection details with the details of your Creatio environment.

    Use the following Creatio environment:
    URL: https://your-site.creatio.com
    Username: <your-username>
    Password: <your-password>

Create an Employee onboarding app for tracking the onboarding of new employees.

The app has one section, Onboardings. Each onboarding has the following fields:
    - Name: text, required. For example, "Onboarding of John Smith".
    - Employee: contact, required. Show only contacts with the "Employee" type.
    - Manager: contact, required. Show only contacts with the "Employee" type.
    - Position: text.
    - Internship start date: date, required.
    - Internship end date: date, required.
    - Status: lookup with the values "Planned", "In progress", and "Completed". The default value is "Planned".
    - Completion date: date.
    - Manager comment: multiline text.
    - HR comment: multiline text.

    When Status is "Completed":
    - Show the Feedback tab with the Manager comment and HR comment fields. Hide the tab for other statuses.
    - Make the Completion date field required.
    - Make the Name, Employee, Manager, and Internship start date fields read-only.

Place the app in a new workplace named "Employee onboarding". Everyone in the company must be able to open the app.
Add a home page to the workplace with the following widgets: the number of onboardings by status and the list of overdue onboardings. An onboarding is overdue if its Internship end date is in the past and its Status is not "Completed".
Do not add other widgets or section dashboards.
  3. Answer the agent's questions, if any. The request covers the main business decisions, so the agent asks few questions or none.

  4. After the agent prepares the business plan, review and approve it. The plan describes the section, fields, business rules, workplace, and home page from your request.

  5. After the agent completes building the app, review its report.

  6. After you log out and log in to Creatio to refresh the navigation, check the Employee onboarding app:

    • The "Employee onboarding" workplace includes the Onboardings section and the home page with the number of onboardings by status and the list of overdue onboardings.
    • The form page includes all fields from the request. A new onboarding has the "Planned" status.
    • The Employee and Manager fields show only contacts of the "Employee" type.
    • When you set the status to "Completed," the Feedback tab with the Manager comment and HR comment fields appears, and the Completion date field becomes required. The Name, Employee, Manager, and Internship start date fields become read-only.

As a result, the Employee onboarding app is in your Creatio environment, which means the toolkit works. Now you can build your own apps. Learn more: Build an app with Creatio AI app development toolkit, Working with coding agents in Creatio.

If the agent does not connect to Creatio or reports missing tools, run the Setup Wizard again and check the status of the required tools. Learn more: Set up Creatio AI app development toolkit.

You can use the same toolkit workspace for other tasks too. For example, migrate Classic UI sections to Freedom UI, convert web pages to mobile pages, or apply a brand theme. The agent selects the matching skill automatically.
