Folders
As the number of records grows, finding the right ones in a section list takes more time. Folders let you save a set of records you work with often, for example, new customers or key accounts, and open it in one click. In Creatio, folders are available in the folder tree of a section list. When you select a folder, the list shows only the records of that folder.
Dynamic and static folders
Creatio has two folder types. They differ in how records get into the folder.
A dynamic folder shows records that match its filter conditions, and Creatio updates its content automatically. For example, a "Competitors" folder filters accounts by the "Competitor" type. When the account type changes, Creatio adds the account to the folder or removes it from there. Use a dynamic folder when a clear rule defines the records you need. You can create a dynamic folder in the folder tree. Starting from Creatio 10.1, you can also save a filter from the Filters panel as a folder. You can save the whole filter or a single condition group.
A static folder contains records that users add manually. For example, a "VIP" folder contains customers that a manager selects one by one. Use a static folder when you decide on each record individually. You can also convert a dynamic folder into a static one to save its current content.
While some sections within Creatio Marketing and composable apps that belong to marketing functionality offer out-of-the-box static folder functionality, others require additional setup using no-code tools. This means you might need to manually configure static folders in specific sections or products to organize records effectively. Learn more: Set up a Folder component.

Folder tree and favorites
Folders can have a tree-like structure with parent and subordinate folders. The structure doesn't affect the folder content. For example, a record in a subordinate folder isn't necessarily in the parent folder. A record can belong to multiple folders, and deleting a folder doesn't delete its records.
You can configure individual list settings for each folder in the folder tree. Learn more: Manage a list.
Add the folders you use most often to favorites. Creatio shows favorite folders at the top of the folder tree, so you can open them faster. Learn more: Add folders to favorites.
Folder access rights
Folder access rights let you decide who can see, edit, and delete a folder. They apply to the folder itself and don't change access to the records in the folder. Learn more: Folder access rights.
