Set up an environment

An environment is a runtime lane, not just a label. It holds its own deployed agent versions and its own bound channels, integrations, and triggers. "Connected to Sandbox" means your session runs against Sandbox's bindings and its deployed agents, isolated from Stage and Production.

Environments also define the promotion chain a version travels along. Learn more: Publish, deploy, and promote an agent version.

Review the promotion flow

  1. Go to the Environments section under Runtime in the navigation panel.

  2. Review the list. Each environment is tagged System or Custom and shows its promotion flow.

    • An entry environment accepts direct deploys and has no promotion source. Its row reads "Entry environment (Direct deploy)."
    • A chained environment reports "Promotes from" and its previous stage. It accepts only builds promoted from that stage.

As a result, you can see the whole chain and where a version can enter it.

Create an environment

  1. Open the Environments section and click New.
  2. Enter a name in the Environment name field, for example, "Pre-production."
  3. Set Promotes from, if this environment sits behind another in the chain. Leave it on "None" to make it an entry environment that accepts direct deploys.
  4. Set Immediate activation, if redeploys here should hard-replace with no drain window.
  5. Click Create environment.

As a result, Creatio AI Studio creates the environment, reports "Environment created," and generates its system identifier from the name. The identifier is the stable technical key used in URLs, API calls, routing, and the CLI, and it cannot be edited afterward. System environment keys are fixed.

Configure the environment

  1. Open the environment from the list.

  2. Go to the Settings tab.

  3. Fill out the configuration fields.

    Field

    Field value

    Notes

Free text about the environment, up to 500 characters. Use it to say what this lane is for, so a colleague can tell whether it is safe to deploy into.

    Promotes from

The previous stage in the chain. Leave it empty to make this an entry environment that accepts draft deployments directly.

    Immediate activation

Redeploys hard-replace with no drain window. Recommended for entry environments; leave it off for Stage and Production so cutover is gradual.

  4. Click Save changes in the header. Nothing is stored until you do, and leaving the page discards the edits.

As a result, Creatio AI Studio applies the settings to the environment.

Where limited networking mode is enabled for your organization, the tab also carries Allowed hosts, the allowlist for that mode. Enter bare hosts or host:port values, for example, api.anthropic.com. Paths, queries, fragments, and wildcards are not supported — pasting a URL keeps only the host.

Review what is bound to an environment

Open an environment and use its tabs to see what it actually holds.

Tab

What it shows

Overview

Counts of the deployed agents and the channels, integrations, and triggers bound here, plus a runtime snapshot of the deployment state and the promotion flow.

Deployed agents

Active and in-flight deployments in the columns Agent, Delivery, Runtime, and Version, with a status filter above them.

Channels, Integrations, Triggers

What this environment is wired to. A different environment can bind a different set.

Deactivate an environment

Deactivating an environment undeploys all of its agents — pods stop and resources are freed — and stops routing to it. The namespace and all data are kept, so you can reactivate it at any time.

An environment cannot be deactivated or deleted while other environments use it as their promotion source.

Deactivate and Delete are in the header of the environment page, and Creatio AI Studio asks you to confirm before it deactivates or deletes one.
