Analyze online behavior of a contact
Gain insights into the online behavior of contacts by using their form submission data or tracking data imported from a web analytics service. For example, discover the source that led the contact to your website or products that interest them the most. View this data on the Marketing tab of the contact page.
You can also gain insights into the behavior of leads after you qualify a lead. The qualification creates a new contact whose data you can track similarly to any other contact.
Creatio supports Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and Matomo to enrich contact records with web analytics data. GA4 is available starting from version 8.3.1. Use GA4 for landing pages designed in Creatio using Landing Page Designer. For external landing pages, use GA4 or Matomo. You can also develop a custom integration that works with a different web analytics service. View form submission data
Creatio automatically identifies contacts that submit forms on landing pages that involve contact creation. For example, "Contact registration form." Learn more: Contact identification from web form submissions.
Form submissions are displayed in the Submissions expanded list of the Marketing tab and updated in real time.
Each form submission is an individual record that contains the following data:
- created on
- web form
- website domains
- full name, ad campaign, email, phone number
Set up GA4 or Matomo to enhance form submission records with web analytics data, for example, user location.
Learn more: Matomo tracking solution.
Form submission records do not include "Dropdown" type fields since the records contain original data provided by the user or passed from the website.
Import tracking data from Matomo
If you are using a custom integration with a different web analytics service, refer to the corresponding vendor documentation.
You can import contact web session and action data that Matomo recorded over the past 12 months. Creatio associates the data with the contact and displays it on the Web sessions and Web actions expanded lists of the Marketing tab in the following cases:
- A contact submits a form on a landing page that involves contact creation. Creatio imports the Matomo data immediately. Learn more: Contact identification from web form submissions.
- A contact clicks a link in a bulk email sent using Creatio Marketing tools. Creatio imports the Matomo data as part of the next scheduled update.
Out of the box, further updates are performed once a day.
Each web session is an individual record that contains the following data:
- start date
- country
- city
- source
- channel
- page referrer URL
- duration, sec
Each web action is an individual record that contains the following data:
- start date
- action type
- web page
- page URL address
Import tracking data from GA4
After Creatio identifies a contact, it synchronizes GA4 tracking data and displays the records on the Web sessions and Web actions expanded lists of the Marketing tab. Learn more about connecting a GA account: Use Google Analytics on landing pages designed in Creatio.
GA4 lets you track contact actions in the following cases:
- A contact submits a form on a Creatio-integrated landing page that involves contact creation.
- A contact clicks a link in a bulk email sent using Creatio Marketing tools. The link leads to a Creatio-integrated landing page.
Creatio synchronizes GA4 data daily using the "Google analytics data synchronization" business process. Wait up to 24-48 hours for new GA4 data to appear. You can also trigger the process manually in the Process library section.
You can also analyze aggregate GA4 data in the Web analytics section and on the Analyze performance tab of a landing page in the Landing pages section.
Creatio automatically appends the contact identifier to bulk email links.
