Manage themes
Theming is available for Enterprise and Unlimited pricing plans. Learn more: Creatio Composable Pricing.
Change the look of an existing theme, set the theme that Creatio applies across the environment, and control which themes users can select for themselves. You can keep a single branded interface for everyone, or offer a set of approved themes and let each user pick one.
To create a new theme, see Create a custom theme. Each user selects a theme for themselves in the user profile. Learn more: Customize the Freedom UI.
Prerequisites
Before you begin, make sure you have permission to the "Can manage themes" (CanManageThemes code) system operation. It covers creating and editing themes, and setting the environment-wide default. Learn more: System operation permissions.
You cannot change or delete a theme that belongs to a locked package. If you try, Creatio displays the "Cannot save file in a locked package" message and keeps the theme as it is. Copy the theme and change the copy instead, or ask a developer to unlock the package. Learn more: Create a custom theme, Operations with packages in Creatio IDE.
Customize a theme
Change the colors of a theme that already exists on your environment.
- Click the
button in the top right → Set up view → Appearance setup. - Open the Theming tab.
- Click the name of the theme in the Themes expanded list. This opens the theme designer.
- Change the colors in the Brand colors and System colors panels.
- Check the Preview panel. It updates as you change the colors.
- Click Save.
As a result, Creatio will apply the changes to every user who runs this theme.
Set the default theme
Everyone runs the built-in "Freedom" theme until you mark a different theme as the default. Users then see the default theme until they select a personal theme of their own.
To set the default theme:
- Click the
button in the top right → Set up view → Appearance setup. - Open the Theming tab.
- Find the theme to use as the default in the Themes expanded list.
- Select the Default checkbox of the theme.
- Click Save.
As a result, Creatio will apply this theme to every user whose profile keeps the default theme.
You can have one default theme at a time, and selecting a new one clears your previous choice. To return everyone to the built-in "Freedom" theme, clear the Default checkbox of the custom theme that currently holds it. The Themes expanded list shows the themes delivered in packages, and the built-in "Freedom" theme is not among them.
Selecting the Default checkbox updates the "Default theme" (DefaultTheme code) system setting. To read or set the value directly, for example, when you migrate a custom theme setup between environments, use the system setting instead of the checkbox. Learn more: System settings.
Restrict theme selection
Make a theme unavailable to users
Use this option so that a particular theme is no longer offered and the remaining themes stay selectable.
- Click the
button in the top right → Set up view → Appearance setup. - Open the Theming tab.
- Find the theme in the Themes expanded list.
- Clear the Enabled for users checkbox of the theme.
- Click Save.
As a result, Creatio will no longer display this theme in the Theme field of the user profile page, and every other enabled theme remains selectable. Users who ran this theme see the default theme after they refresh the page, and the Theme field of their profile is empty.
Prevent users from changing their theme
Use this option to keep every user on the default theme of the environment. Out of the box, the "Can change theme on the user profile page" (CanChangeOwnTheme code) system operation is granted to all users.
- Click the
button in the top right → Users and administration → Operation permissions. - Find the "Can change theme on the user profile page" (
CanChangeOwnThemecode) system operation. - Revoke the permission for the relevant users or roles.
As a result, Creatio will hide the Theme field on the user profile page, and every user will see the default theme.
Delete a theme
- Click the
button in the top right → Set up view → Appearance setup. - Open the Theming tab.
- Find the theme in the Themes expanded list.
- Open the menu in the row of the theme → Delete.
As a result, Creatio will remove the theme from the environment. Users who ran this theme switch to the built-in "Freedom" theme.
