How to create and set up content blocks

All blocks in the Content Designer are stored in the [Content blocks library] lookup. In this lookup, you can add custom content blocks, copy or edit the existing blocks and delete the outdated blocks.

Note

You can open the [Lookups] section only if you have permission to perform the [Access to “Configuration“ section] system operation.

To create a new content block:

1.In the record list of the [Content blocks library] lookup, click [Add block]. A page of the new content block will open. 1

2.On the [General information] tab, specify the block name.

Note

We recommend naming the blocks in a way that would describe the contents and purpose of the content block. Such approach helps find the content block when you work with templates in the Content Designer.

3.On the [Content block] tab, click the [Configure] button. In the opened block designer, configure the content of the block (Fig. 1):

  • Add the necessary elements to the block. For this, drag them from the list on the left side of the window and drop in the designer working area.

  • Configure the element location. You can move the elements in the working area, set up their width and height using your mouse.

  • Group the added elements in the order that will determine how they are displayed in a mobile device.

  • Click [OK].

4.In the block setup area, you can configure its height, indent spaces, background and borders just the way you can do it in the Content Designer.

5.Save the block.

The new block will be added to the blocks library automatically and will be available for use.
