Work with dynamic parameters
Dynamic parameters let you record the specific terms of a product on an application or an opportunity, such as an interest rate, a term, or an add-on option. Creatio builds the set of available parameters from the product configuration and the selected customer need, so agents fill out only the values that the product allows. Set up these parameter sets and specify the stages at which agents can edit them.
Parameter sources
Creatio takes parameters from configuration records, not from the record page. The following parameter sets are available:
- Product parameters. Creatio takes them from the Product details record of the product, from the parameters that have the Parameter classification field set to "Product feature."
- Customer need parameters. Configure them for each customer need. Read more >>>
Configure parameters for a customer need
-
Click
to open the System Designer. -
Go to the System setup group → Lookups section.
-
Open the Customer needs lookup → the relevant customer need →
. -
Go to the Product in need type list → add the products that must be available when a user selects this customer need.
-
Go to the Parameters list → add the parameters that have the Parameter classification field set to "Product feature."
Creatio generates these parameters automatically as soon as a user selects this customer need.
As a result, users who select this customer need will be able to choose only the products that you added, and Creatio will generate the parameter set that you specified.
You can also add customer need parameters manually for the "Commercial lending" need on the opportunity page. To do that, click
in the Customer request expanded list.
Configure the stages at which users can edit parameters
Creatio controls parameter editing per stage. Applications and opportunities use different lookups.
Configure editable stages for applications
Out of the box, you can edit parameters only at the "Product details" stage.
- Click
to open the System Designer. - Go to the System setup group → Lookups section.
- Open the Application stages lookup.
- Go to the needed stage and select the Editable application parameters checkbox.
As a result, you will be able to edit dynamic parameters on applications at the stages that you enabled. At all other stages, Creatio will show the parameters as read-only.
Configure editable stages for opportunities
- Click
to open the System Designer. - Go to the System setup group → Lookups section.
- Open the Opportunity stages lookup.
- Go to the needed stage and clear the Dynamic parameters locked checkbox. Select it to make the parameters read-only.
As a result, you will be able to edit dynamic parameters on opportunities only at the unlocked stages.
Parameter behavior on record pages
Display conditions
Creatio shows the parameter block only if the selected product meets all the following conditions:
- The product has a valid Product details record.
- The Start date of that record is today or earlier, and the End date is empty or falls in the future.
- No other active Product details record for the same product conflicts with it.
If a product does not meet these conditions, Creatio shows a placeholder instead of the parameter block.
Field behavior
Parameter fields behave according to their configuration.
Scenario | Behavior |
|---|---|
Numeric parameter with a defined range | The value must fall within the allowed range. |
Numeric parameter prepopulated with a static value | Creatio shows the field as read-only. |
String parameter | Editable if the source is empty, read-only if the source is prepopulated. |
Lookup field with a single allowed value | Creatio prepopulates the field and shows it as read-only. |
Lookup field with multiple allowed values | Editable. The user selects the needed value. |
Boolean parameter | Creatio always shows the field as read-only. |
Creatio applies these rules automatically and requires values in all parameters before a user can submit the record for underwriting.
Behavior at read-only stages
If you cannot edit parameters at the current stage:
- Creatio shows all parameter fields as read-only.
- Creatio does not generate new parameters, even if the configuration is active.
- The list stays empty if Creatio generated no parameters earlier.
At editable stages, field-level rules still apply. Individual fields can remain read-only or prepopulated, depending on their configuration.
