Finding and merging duplicates
Since account and contact records can be added from multiple sources, customer base may contain (duplicates). To keep your customer database free of duplicates, use the duplicate search and merge functionality for the [Contacts] and [Accounts] sections and duplicate search in the [Leads] section.
The duplicates search for contacts or accounts can be performed for all section records or for one record when saving.
•A general duplicate search is performed for all contacts and accounts.
•A local duplicate search checks for duplicate records for a particular contact or account when saving a record.
You can also manually merge duplicate account or contact records.
Attention
General duplicate search is not available for Oracle database.
The duplicate search for leads is available in bpm’online products containing the [Leads] section. Similar leads are not exactly “duplicates”, since similar leads identify similar customer needs that may appear within different periods of time.
