How can I customize the out-of-the-box sales process?

You can change, add, or delete process stages as well as change the list of activities in the process according to your needs. To customize the process:

  1. Open the Process library section.

  2. Select the Lead and opportunity management folder.

  3. Select the process to customize. The opportunity management process consists of the following subprocesses:

    • Qualification v.8.1.1
    • Presentation v.7.8.0
    • Proposal v.7.8.0
    • Contracting v.7.8.0
    • Opportunity closing

    Each subprocess manages a specific opportunity stage.

  4. Click Copy in the selected record.

  5. Make the required changes in the copy. Ensure the start event remains the same as the original. You can change or remove other elements as well as add new elements.

  6. Save the copy.

  7. Select the original process → ActionsDisable.

As a result, Creatio will use the edited copy as part of opportunity management.

What happens if I skip a process activity?

Incomplete tasks do not affect the transition through stages. If you do not complete one or more activities as part of the stage and move the opportunity to a different stage, Creatio cancels all unfinished activities added by the process automatically and generates a new list of activities that correspond to the current opportunity stage. Creatio does not cancel incomplete tasks you created manually when transitioning through opportunity stages.

How does Creatio calculate the price of the product in an opportunity if it differs from the base system currency?

Creatio always converts the product price to the base system currency when you add a product to an opportunity. The conversion is performed based on the exchange rate specified in the Currencies lookup. Learn more: Work with currencies.

If the exchange rate changes drastically before you can create an order, remove the product from the opportunity and add it back. Creatio will recalculate the product price and total cost based on the current exchange rate.

Can you work with opportunities without using a process?

If sales management process in your company is different from the opportunity management process in Creatio, you can work with the Opportunities section without using the preconfigured sales process. In this case, do not run the corporate sales process and change stages on the opportunity page manually. Fill out the required fields and enter information in the tabs and details as part of the opportunity management. To ensure Creatio does not run the process automatically when you transfer a lead to the Converted stage, disable the opportunity management processes.
