How to manage subscriptions for various bulk email types
If you use several types of content in your bulk emails, for example, newsletters, special offers and invitations, you should enable subscriptions for particular content types. This helps to personalize the bulk emails and your customers will receive only those bulk emails that they are interested in. For example, a customer may sign up for special offers, but not give consent to receive news and invitations. Subscriptions to various types of bulk emails increase the effectiveness of your email marketing.
To take customer interest into consideration during bulk email sending, perform these steps:
1.Create pages on your website where the customer can express their consent to receive particular materials from your company. Set them up as the forwarding pages on your landings.
2.Deselect the checkbox for the “Unsubscribe user from all bulk emails” bpm’online marketing system setting. This is required to avoid automatic unsubscribes from all bulk emails when a recipient only unsubscribes from a particular type of bulk email.
Note
The "Unsubscribe all users from bulk emails" system setting is used for adding the automatic unsubscribe block to the email template and the correct functioning of unsubscribe link. It is recommended to clear the value of this system setting unless you set up different types of bulk emails with further system setup by a developer.
3.Specify the address of the unsubscribe page in the “Website to redirect unsubscribed” system setting.
4.Perform additional integration of the created page with bpm’online marketing. Such an integration is performed by bpm’online development tools.
Note
Additional integration of your website pages with bpm’online marketing requires system adjustment by a developer.
As a result, information about the subscription limits for a particular bulk email type is automatically stored in the [Contacts] section of bpm’online marketing. This information is stored on the [Bulk email subscription] detail of the contact page,
Note
You can generate a list of bulk email types in the [Email type] lookup.
