Create a landing page

Landing pages are focused, standalone web pages designed for a single objective, for example, capturing leads during marketing campaigns, registering event participants, or promoting a specific offer. Unlike general-purpose web pages, landing pages are streamlined to guide visitors toward a clear call to action. In Creatio, you can build responsive landing pages for both desktop and mobile devices easily using the no-code, visual, block-based Landing Page Designer that has intuitive drag-and-drop functionality.

You can use the Landing Page Designer to design landing pages of any complexity, from simple form pages to extensive event promos. Working in the Landing Page Designer does not require an in-depth understanding of HTML. Creatio generates the code automatically based on the layout that you design.

A landing page consists of a series of rows that contain text, images, videos, forms, and their different combinations.

Follow these steps to create a landing page:

The setup procedure described below is similar for all types of landing pages.

Example

Create a landing page for capturing event participants. The page must have a form, an image background, contacts, and a call to action button.

Step 1. Create a landing page record

  1. Open the Landing pages section.

  2. Click New. This opens a mini page.

  3. Fill out the fields on the mini page.

    Field

    Field value

    Name

    Name of the landing page. The field is required.

    Goal

    What you intend to achieve using the page. For example, "register event participants."

  4. Click Save.

As a result, Creatio will add a new landing page records to the list. Proceed to step 2.

Step 2. Design the landing page

  1. Open the record of the landing page created on step 1.

  2. Click Design. This opens the Landing Page Designer.

  3. Design the heading row.

    1. Click Settings in the top right → drag the Content area width slider all the way to 1440 px.

    2. Click Rows in the top right → drag a row template to the canvas above the existing row. For this example, select the four-column row.

    3. Click the area around the row content to open the row setup area.

    4. Configure the row parameters as specified in the table below.

      Vertical align

      How to align the content vertically. For this example, select Middle.

      Columns structure

      How to group the row content horizontally. Point to the area between the columns and drag left or right to change the column proportions. For this example, set column structure to "6" - "2" - "2" - "2."

      Padding

      The amount of empty space between the column border and content elements. For this example, set it to Top - "5," Right - "20," Bottom - "5," Left - "20."

    5. Click Content in the top right → drag content elements to the row.

      1. Drag the Image element to the first column.

      2. Drag the Spacer elements to the second and third columns.

      3. Drag the Button element to the fourth column.

    6. Click the image → configure the image parameters.

      Parameter

      Choose image

      Upload an image from your image library or via a URL. This enables the Auto width parameter.

      Auto width

      Whether to set image width automatically or specify a custom value. For this example, disable the toggle and drag the Width slider to 10 percent.

      Align

      How to align the image. For this example, select Left.

    7. Click the text in the button and change it to "REGISTER NOW".

    8. Configure the button parameters.

      What the button does on click. For this example, leave the Link type parameter as is and set the Url parameter to the registration form page.

      Background color

      For this example, set it to "#006ce0."

      Align

      How to align the button. For this example, select Right.

      Content padding

      The amount of empty space between the column border and button. For this example, set it to Top - "5," Right - "25," Bottom - "5," Left - "30."

  4. Design the form row.

    1. Click Rows in the top right → drag a row template to the canvas above the existing row. For this example, select any two-column row.

    2. Click the area around the row content to open the row setup area.

    3. Configure the row parameters as specified in the table below.

      For this example, set the Url parameter to an image that serves as a row background..

      Vertical align

    4. Set the background color of the right column. To do this, click the right column in the Columns structure parameter → set the column background to "#0d2e4e."

    5. Click Content in the top right → drag content elements to the row.

      1. Drag the Paragraph, Image, and **Title element to the first column.

      2. Drag the Form element to the second column.

    6. Select the text in the Paragraph element and change it to "Orlando, Florida | May 13-15."

    7. Configure the parameters of the Paragraph element.

      How large the text is. For this example, set it to 22.

      Text color

      For this example, set it to "#ffffff."

      Align

      How to align the text. For this example, set it to center.

      Letter spacing

      The space between letters. For this example, set it to "1."

      Background color

      To access this option, select the text on the canvas and click icn_background.png. For this example, set the background color to "#ff4013."

    8. Click the image → configure the image parameters.

      Upload an image from your image library or via a URL. This enables the Auto width parameter. For this example, enter the logo URL in the Url parameter.

      Padding

      The amount of empty space between the column border and image. For this example, click More options and set padding to Top - "0," Right - "30," Bottom - "0," Left - "30."

    9. Select the text in the Title element and change it to "Brand new format!"

    10. Configure the parameters of the Title element.

    1. Configure the form fields.

    2. Select the form → Form settings in the top right. This opens a window.

    3. Specify the object in the Create records in parameter. "Submitted form" object is selected out of the box.

    4. Select the following fields:

      • Phone number
      • Email
      • Last name
      • First name
      • Job title
      • Website
    5. Click Save.

    6. Configure the form parameters.

    Manage fields

    Configures field order, labels, titles, placeholders, and permissions. For this example, leave the fields and button as they are.

    Text color (label options)

    For this example, set it to "#ffffff."

    Padding (button options)

    The amount of empty space between the other form content and the button. For this example, click More options and set padding to Top - "5," Right - "20," Bottom - "5," Left - "20."

    The amount of empty space between the column borders and the form block. For this example, click More options and set padding to Top - "10," Right - "10," Bottom - "10," Left - "10."

  5. Design the contact info row.

    1. Click the area around the content of the bottom row that was available out of the box to open the row setup area.

    2. Configure the row parameters as specified in the table below.

      How to group the row content horizontally. Point to the area between the columns and drag left or right to change the column proportions. For this example, Click Add new twice and set column structure to "2" - "7" - "3."

    3. Click Content in the top right → drag content elements to the row.

      1. Drag the Image element to the first column.

      2. Drag the Spacer element to the second column.

      3. Drag the Paragraph element to the third column.

    4. Click the image → configure the image parameters.

    5. Select the text in the Paragraph element and add contact info.

    6. Configure the parameters of the Paragraph element.

      Padding

      The amount of empty space between the column border and image. For this example, click More options and set padding to Top - "20," Right - "0," Bottom - "0," Left - "0."

    7. Link the phones and email in the paragraph.

      1. Select the first row.

      2. Click btn_link.png in the toolbar. This opens a window.

      3. Fill out the parameters in the window.

        For this example, select "Tel."

        Number

        For this example, enter the phone number.

        Target

        For this example, select "None."

      4. Link the other phones and email in a similar way.

  6. Design the mobile view.

    1. Click btn_mobile.png in the top left.

    2. Check the mobile view and edit the page further if needed. For this example, spacers are not necessary on mobile. You can hide them from the mobile view. To do this, click the spacer → Hide on mobile in the setup area.

    3. Click btn_hide.png in the top left to check how the page looks with elements hidden.

As a result, your landing page will be ready for publishing. Proceed to step 3.

Step 3. Publish the landing page

You can either export the landing page you created to HTML and publish it on your own resource or publish it to an automatically generated URL provided by Creatio. In the latter case, you can still modify the ending part of the URL (URL slug) in the "Landing page" object.

To publish the landing page to an automatically generated URL, click Publish on the record page. You will be able to unpublish the page or update its design without unpublishing it later. We recommend unpublishing landing pages that are no longer in use. This helps prevent losing prospects who might visit an outdated or inactive page.

To export the page as HTML:

  1. Click Close to close the Landing Page Designer.

  2. Click btn_more.pngDownload HTML.
